Spinning in the lavender field

A painting I did this afternoon (acrylic on canvas) whilst listening to The Hobbit on TAPE, so incredibly old school, but I'm ill and it made everything better.  This is done from a photo from the 'girl in the lavender field' set I posted a while back.  I think I might do a set once I get all the photos printed off, but we'll see how it goes.

These photographs are my response to John Singer Sargent's style of work and the other great impressionists of the time. Taken in lavender fields in Snowshill in the Cotswolds at the end of last Summer, just before it was harvested.
